Soft close toilet seat trouble

Postal service by TrevB »

The hat on my soft shut toilet seat has stopped working (i.e. it but slams down like a regular chapeau). Does anyone know if it tin can be adjusted please? The seat itself is still working fine (closes slowly).

Thank you

Practice you know what brand and model information technology is?

Am I right in thinking that is closes softly and slams almost a centimetre or then from the seat?

I have a simular problem except on ours, the seat slams down merely the chapeau is OK
Being replaced under warranty !
On ours if you look where the hinge shaft goes into the round torso of the machinery, a viscid gel is weeping from the seal, which I approximate is the compound which retards the fall of the seat and chapeau.
If yours is the same type and so replacement is the only option!

If it is still under guarantee I would take information technology back. I don't think they are adaptable ( I know that the girlfriends is not adjustable ).

They are a bit of a gimmick to be honest and are ok, but they get you into the habbit of simply letting go of the seat, which can land you in a lot of trouble in other peoples houses when it only drops!
